The members of the Yerkrapah Volunteers’ Union do not face any pressure in terms of backing majority candidates in different electoral districts, says Gagik Davtyan, the head of the organization’s territorial headquarters in Yerevan’s Arabkir district.
According to him, the Union, which is legally registered as a non-governmental organization, has a free approach to the elections as it does not force anyone to vote in favor of a particular candidate.
It comes after the local daily Zhoghovurd said in a recent report that Artak Sargsyan of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) complained to his fellow party members that the organization’s headquarters in Arabkir endorse the editor-in-chief of the 168 Zham newspaper, Satik Seyranyan, had yesterday had a meeting with the residents of Kanaker-Zeytun district.
