Why Not?: Role, potential and ambitions of Armenian women candidates for proportionate parliament representation

Women candidates, members of nine political forces running for proportionate representation in the National Assembly, state that the involvement of women in Armenia's political and social life is insufficient, so they are coming to fill that gap.

"Today a woman is trained to be a mother and not a participant of social life. There is a mentality issue and it's dogmatic, but it shouldn't be credited to men only; the main issue is whether women are ready to be involved in civil society and to what extent," says Prosperous Armenia party (PAP) candidate Elina Vardanyan during the debate for women candidates for proportionate representation organized by Armenian Center for Political and International Research.
