Senik slowly opens his military backpack and carefully arranges things inside, not forgetting to take the hygiene stuff, the kitchen accessories and his personal items. Junior sergeant Senik Sargsyan, 22, is spending his last hours at the advanced defense positions in the Hadrut region of Nagorno-Karabakh. Soon he will remember his two-year military service in the comfort of his home in Yerevan, some 440 kilometers from where this comfort is being protected.
"I studied a lot during my time in the army, now I will go to Yerevan and start preparing for graduate studies at the university," says the conscript, who got a bachelor's degree in economics before being called up for military duty, as he takes some books on economics and puts them into his bag.
