le=”text-align: justify; “>Talking to journalists in Tsitsernakaberd, the Memorial to the Armenian Genocide victims, Stepan Demirchyan, Chairman of the People’s Party of Armenia, which is part of the opposition bloc Armenian National Congress (ANC), noted that Armenians must strengthen their nationhood out of respect for the Armenian Genocide victims.
“We must appreciate all that has been done for recognition of the Armenian Genocide, both in the Soviet times and since Armenia gained independence, both in Armenia and throughout the Armenian Diaspora. I hope the recognition process will go on, and Turkey will admit the Armenian Genocide at last.”
ANC Coordinator Levon Zurabyan noted that the Armenian Genocide was the culmination of the wars the Armenian people had lost over centuries.
