A working group representing the civil initiative Teghut Protection has sent an open letter to President of Constitutional Court Gagik Harutyunyan, calling for an academic discussion over issues that have received a wide public resonance.
The idea to hold the discussion had been earlier proposed by the Transparency International Anti-corruption center and the local NGO Ecodar.
The group calls for a proper perception and a uniform interpretation of international agreements, particularly the Aarhus Convention (demanding access to information, public participation in decision-making and access to justice in environmental matters) and the institution of action popularis.
