Deputy head of Intellectual Property agency of Armenia’s Ministry of Economy Andranik Khachikyan told the reporters today that in Armenia the intellectual property right violations occur mainly in art sphere.

‘It particularly relates to audio-video products. Very often unlicensed DVDs and CDs are being sold in shops. Violations are also registered in connection with brands: a brand not belonging to a company is being put on its product,’ he said.

At the same time the expert noted that their agency has nothing to do with violation of rights. ‘In many cases people apply to us for getting information about the violation of rights but we are mostly engaged in registering industrial intellectual property,’ he said.
