Economist Tatul Manaseryan, Head of Alternative Research Center, assessing the economic results of the first quarter of 2012, said at a press conference Wednesday that "surprisingly" stable trends are being recorded, despite this being an election year.
The economist said that the private sector, as a rule, becomes very cautious during election and pre-election years, and abstains from making investments and ventures. In this respect, he says, the stability can be considered to be the continuation of the 4.6 percent economic growth in 2011.
