One conscript is dead and another seriously wounded in the latest case of either ceasefire violations or comrade-on-comrade violence.
The shootings took place in the Chinari village, Tavush province, on the Azerbaijan border, where sniper fire is not uncommon.
Mary Sargsyan, head of the press service of the Investigation Service of the Ministry of Defense, reports that the dead conscript is 22-year-old Zorik Margaryan, and the wounded is 22-year-old Karen Movsisyan, who was taken to the hospital in Berd, where he underwent a surgery, "and his life is not at stake." A criminal case is launched and an investigation is underway.
Both conscripts were drafted in spring 2010, and they were about to be discharged soon.
