A day before the official launch of the election campaign on April 8 the "campaign of fists" started, too. Last Friday, the single-mandate candidates had a clash in election district #21 in Armavir province, followed by the removal of the candidacy by the non-party candidate, who refused to continue the majoritarian struggle.
Candidate Meruzhan Mkhoyan was beaten in his house, and then he was taken to the cemetery of Sardarapat village, where his beating continued.
According to the registry of the Armavir Medical Center, Mkhoyan received a brain concussion, hematoma in the left lower eyelid, a fracture of the left hip, and a closed joint injury.
