Armenian politician expects next US leader to say ‘genocide=?UTF-8?B?4oCZ?=

le=”text-align: justify; “>US President Barack Obama will not say the word “genocide,” Vahan Hovhannisyan, Bureau member, Armenian Revolutionary Federation Dashnaktsutyun (ARF-D), told journalists in Tsitsernakaberd, Memorial to Armenian Genocide victims.

“I do not expect Barack Obama to say the word ‘genocide’ in his traditional speech on April 24. I expect the next US president to do it,” Hovannisian said.

The Armenian politician’s forecast proved true: the US president referred to the event as “the Meds Yeghern.”

As regards the steps needed in connection with the bill criminalizing denial of the Armenian Genocide, approved by the French Senate, Hovannisian said that the ARF-D will resume its efforts.  Read more... (1736 words, 12 images)
