Armenian-Cypriot intergovernmental commission meets in Yerevan

le=”text-align: justify; “>At the maiden meeting of the Armenian-Cypriot intergovernmental commission, Armenia’s First Deputy Minister of Defense Alik Mirzabekyan and his Cypriot counterpart Christos Malikkides signed an Armenian-Cypriot military cooperation program for 2012.

The meeting discussed the powers of the Intergovernmental Commission’s national sides, schedule of further activities, two countries’ needs and potential. The meeting also outlines issues of bilateral military and technical cooperation.

The Cypriot delegation arrived in Armenia on April 29, and its visit is to last until May 2.

Armenian Minister of Defense Seyran Ohanyan received the Commission co-chairmen. Minister Ohanyan stressed strong bilateral politico-military contacts as well as ample opportunities for military and technical cooperation.
