Vote 2012: International and local observers get ready to monitor May elections

Eleven local NGOs represented by almost 10,000 observers, have so far applied to the Central Election Commission (CEC) to carry out an observation mission during May 6 parliamentary elections in Armenia.

According to the list published by CEC, the following NGOs will be represented by their observers: Choice is Yours (3,334 observers), Helsinki Citizens Assembly – Vanadzor office (27 observers), Pan-Armenian Youth Association (746 observers) Balanced Development of Community NGO (1028 observers) and others.

The OSCE/ ODIHR inform it will send 250 short-term and 24 long-term observers to monitor the elections in Armenia. In 2007 and 2008, the OSCE/ ODIHR sent more observers to Armenia.
