Turkish FM hopeful to see regional problems settled

Following a meeting with his Azerbaijani and Iranian counterparts in Nakhicevan, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu expressed hope that their discussion would positively affect the situation in South Caucasus.

“We are hopeful all the disputable issues in the South Caucasus region will find a solution to enable us to upgrade the regional development with Armenia, Georgia and Russia to a new level,” he told a news conference after the meeting.

The trilateral ministerial meeting focused on the situation in the South Caucasus and the Nagorno Karabakh conflict.

Davutoglu had separate meeting with both the Iranian and Turkish foreign ministers. The meeting with the Iranian top diplomat, Ali Akbar Salehi, addressed the situation in the Middle East, as well as country’s nuclear program.
