Former MP, high-profile businessman Khachatur Sukiasyan met the media today for the first time since 2008, before he fled Armenia as a wanted man, charged with crimes relating to the unrest of March that year.
On Monday Sukiasyan announced his candidacy for return to parliament and on Wednesday announced his assurance of winning a seat, saying he decided to run because "the atmosphere has changed and it is now possible to work and try to make a change for the country's development".
During the period of his "exile" and before being granted amnesty in 2010, Sukiasyan lost several businesses and gave up his mandate after publicly supporting opposition leader Levon Ter-Petrosyan.
