Serzh Sargsyan Asks Newly Elected Russian President to Visit Armenia

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan today issued a congratulatory message to Vladimir Putin on his election as president of the Russian Federation.

The message reads, in part:

“On behalf of the Armenian people and myself, I sincerely and heartily congratulate you on your election as president of the Russian Federation.

“Your landslide victory in the presidential election testifies to the Russians’ broad and long-term support in your adopted policies on the full course of Russia’s development, the modernization and improvement of the country, and the even greater enhancement of its role and influence in global processes.

“Joining Armenia and Russia is an alliance based on time-tested friendship of the fraternal peoples of our countries.
