Armenia's Central Election Commission on March 22 stopped accepting nominations by political parties and blocs and individuals wishing to take part in the elections to the National Assembly of the 5th convocation slated for May 6.
Documents have been submitted by eight political parties and one electoral bloc. The following forces have applied for participation: the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), the coalition parties Prosperous Armenia (PAP) and Orinats Yerkir, the opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) (electoral bloc), Heritage and Free Democrats (with a joint list), the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (Dashnaktsutyun), as well as the Communist Party of Armenia, the Democratic Party of Armenia and the United Armenians Party.
