The paper says it has learned from sources that President Serzh Sargsyan, who is also the leader of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia, is taking new steps to enroll new members in the party.
It says the president is going to distribute membership tickets among parliamentarians, representatives of the media and singers at the RPA headquarters later today. The party will then convene an executive board meeting where Sargsyan will introduce the Party’s proportional list to the members, says the paper.
“Such succession of the events is not accidental. The RPA proportional list will include the names of new Republicans. So it would not be right to unveil a list where many candidates are non-partisants,” comments the paper.
