Hraparak: Parliament committee chief abuses power for business interests?

The paper says it has learned from sources that Ara Babloyan, the head of the National Assembly’s Committee on Healthcare, Maternity and Childhood, has signed health insurance contracts with the employees of provincial administrations.

It says Babloyan, who owns an insurance company (Garant Limens), resorted to such measure considering the legal requirement on the mandatory health insurance of civil servants. He reportedly urged them to sign contracts with his firm,

The paper says further that it attempted to learn from Babloyan himself why he decided to abuse power in the interest of his own business. But he reportedly warned that he would answer phone calls only in case a medical question is at issue, and only after hearing the question, said he had no idea about the matter and switched off his phone, says the paper.
