Stepan Safaryan, a member of the opposition Heritage party faction in National Assembly, says he is sure the party will have a success in the upcoming election.
Speaking to Tert.am, he expressed concerns, however, that several central figures of Heritage may not be represented in parliament this time, as many of them are running for election from single-mandate constituencies.
Asked whether such scenario is possible at all, he answered: “I am sure we will win because this is a winning majority list.”
Heritage recently set up an alliance with the opposition Free Democrats party to run for parliament with a joint list of candidates. Safaryan said the move is likely to spur complaints by certain circles, noting in the meantime that the majority appear to be satisfied as the party’s board meetings suggest.
