Azeri official rules out tension with Iran

The relations between Azerbaijan and Iran have seen no tension recently, according to Ali Hasanov, the chief of the Azerbaijani presidential administration’s public policy department.

Speaking of a possible war against Iran, the Azeri official said that certain circles in the country are now taking precautions against security threats from the north.

“Azerbaijan has numerously voiced its stance. The country, of course, builds its domestic and foreign policies relying on its own interests. Our compatriots too, reside in Iran, so the anti-Iranian forces will not be able to manifest themselves in Azerbaijan,” he said.

Speaking of an Israeli statement to sell $1.6 worth unmanned drones and up-to-date anti-air defense systems to Azerbaijan, Hasanov said such measures aim to increase Azerbaijan’s military security.
