The measures evoked varied responses by a number of NGOs and public groups and political parties.
In its official statement, Armenia’s police offered a detailed explanation for legality of the police actions. However, Armenia’s media voiced different opinions on the adequacy of the police action.
Armenia’s police attach importance to public opinion even if they do not share it and are ready to discuss the problems with the Armenian Human Rights Defender’s (Ombudsman) office, a number of public action groups, Armenian Revolutionary Federation Dashnaktsutyun (ARF-D) and Heritage parties, as well as other sides concerned.
