Armenian vice speaker meets Lithuanian deputy FM

A delegation led by the vice speaker of Armenia’s National Assembly, Edward Sharmazanov, met on Thursday with the Lithuanian deputy foreign minister, Evaldas Ignatavicius, in Vilnius.

According to a press release by the parliament, the sides highlighted the importance of establishing closer ties, and discussed bilateral-cooperation issues.

Addressing the May parliamentary polls, the Armenian delegates reiterated their commitment to organize all processes in line with electoral standards.

Sharmazanov praised Lithuania’s experience in creating democratic set of values and noted that the country can assist in Armenia’s Euro-integration efforts.

The Lithuanian deputy FM told the guests that the EU Eastern Partnership countries will meet for a summit in Vilnius in 2013. He also reaffirmed his country’s willingness to assist in Armenia’s current reforms.
