le=”text-align: justify; “>In Armenia, 5% of voters cast their votes to meet their neighbors’ requests, said the sociologist Aharon Adibekyan, citing poll results.

A third of voters do not take part in the voting at all, with wavering voters constituting the most corrupt third as well.

As to the effect Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan’s speech at the congress of Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) may have on the voters, Adibekyan noted that only 15 to 17 per cent of people regularly listen to political figures. The rest use the “bush telegraph.”

The expert pointed out two major actors in Armenia’s political arena. “The Republican Party of Armenia and the Prosperous Armenia Party, followed by the Armenian National Congress, Armenian Revolutionary Federation Dashnaktsutyun and Heritage.”
