Sects are penetrating into Armenian families and are a poised to kill the national identity among Armenians, an MP from the Rule of Law party has said.
Speaking at the parliament on Tuesday, Marzpetuni Manukyan said that sects have put down long roots in the Armenian society in the recent ten years and are undermining the concept of the Armenian family.
“That is an issue of national security as sects, by using various methods of soul-hunting, are penetrating into the Armenian family, gradually killing the defensive instinct of national self-consciousness,” explained he.
“This is aimed at distorting and undermining the Armenian family,” Manukyan said, adding that the Armenian law has several loopholes when it comes to defending children from their parent’s religious views.
