Poverty line in Armenia is higher than presented, independent MP Viktor Dallakyan said at a parliament session on Wednesday.
Citing statistical figures, Dallakyan said that today 1,1million people are considered as poor in Armenia.
“The real level of poverty in Armenia is higher than it is presented, especially among pensioners, those who receive social benefits,” said Dallakyan.
Further, he said that currently some people think that by passing away they will cause problems to their relatives who will have to take care of the funeral and related expenses.
Dallakyan further citied some UN data, according to which, 40,000 out of 108,000 poor families do not have proper housing conditions
