EPP to Prez: “Welcome (sort of) to the European People=?UTF-8?B?4oCZ?=s Party=?UTF-8?B?4oCd?=

President Serzh Sargsyan, in Marseille, France on a working visit on Wednesday, participated in the plenary session of the 20th congress of the European People's Party (EPP).

During the session EPP President Wilfried Martens greeting Sargsyan, praised the "brave initiatives" of the president of Armenia.

"You resorted to brave initiatives towards your neighbors, first of all I mean Turkey. You have carried out a number of domestic pretentious reforms. Armenia constructs peaceful democracy, and that democracy must be strengthened," Martens said.

The EPP president stressed that "The EPP delegation, which returned from Armenia two weeks ago, and which has gone [to Armenia] to assess the four parties which had applied for EPP membership, was inspired."  Read more... (234 words)
