Armenian PM says insurance in agriculture is additional burden for farmers

Armenia’s Prime Minsiter Tigran Sargsyan has said that insurance in the sphere of agriculture would be additional burden for farmers.

In response to a question MP Ruzan Khachatryan why there is no insurance in agriculture, Sargsyan said that the issue has been discussed thoroughly and the conclusion is that it would also be unaffordable for farmers.

“First of all, we should understand what we want – mandatory of voluntary insurance,” said Sargsyan.

“In case of the first one it would be an additional burden for farmers, in case of the other, it will be expensive for farmers,” he added.

“That is the reason we consider insurance in agriculture inexpedient,” said Sargsyan.
