Armenian Consul General in Batumi Garik Israelyan met on Wednesday the Ajarian minister of education, culture and sport, Gia Abuladze.
According to the Georgian news website Apsny.ge, the discussion between the two officials focused on possibilities of developing cooperation with Armenia’s Ministry of Education and Science.
The minister particularly reiterated his country’s willingness to assist in the organization of Armenian cultural days, concerts, exhibitions etc.
Addressing the problems in the education sector, the Armenian diplomat stressed the importance of raising the quality of Armenian language, literature and history teaching in Adjarian schools.
He proposed organizing elective classes of Armenian in schools having a large number of Armenian students.
