Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan on Wednesday told the country's law-enforcement agencies to step up efforts in investigating cases related to the 2008 post-election unrest that so far have appeared stymied.
Sargsyan's clear message to top security officials, police and prosecutors attending a meeting at his residence came less than two weeks after opposition leader Levon Ter-Petrosyan sought such a pledge in his demands listed at a public rally in Yerevan.
Prosecutor-General Aghvan Hovsepyan, Justice Minister Hrair Tovmasyan, Chief of Police Alik Sargsyan, National Security Service chief Gorik Hakobyan, senior judges and other judiciary and law-enforcement officials attended the top-level consultations at the presidential palace.
