Japan government declares Fukushima no-go zone

The Japanese Prime Minister has banned all unauthorized entry into the 20-kilometer exclusion zone around the quake-damaged Fukushima-1 nuclear power plant.

According to the Voice of Russia Naoto Kan gave these orders upon his arrival to the prefecture on April 21st.

The powerful earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan on March 11th entailed several nuclear accidents and subsequent radiation leaks. 80,000 people were evacuated from the hazardous area, who later started gradually returning back home.

Meanwhile, cleanup efforts carried out by specialists of Fukushima operator TEPCO are estimated to take another 3-6 months.
