History will repeat if army grows weaker - colonel

History will repeat if the Armenian army grows weaker, an Armenian colonel said on the Genocide Remembrance Day in Yerevan.

The director of Pokr Mher military school, Colonel Ara Marutyan, told a Tert.am reporter that the visit to the Genocide Memorial is especially important for young males, as it leaves an indelible impression on them, raising their military-patriotic spirit.

“This visit reminded them yet another time the Turks treated us like real Turks when we didn’t have an army, and history will repeat itself once our army grows weaker,” Marutyan said.

Scores of student sand schoolchildren from Yerevan and different regions of Armenian attended today the Genocide commemoration ceremony to pay respect to the innocent victims of the big tragedy.
