Armenia needs an intellectual potential to gain the fruits of the Genocide recognition, an Armenian expert has said.
At a news conference on Thursday, Director of the Noravank Scientific and Educational Foundation Gagik Harutyunyan said the Armenian society is not much likely to demand anything from the world community given that very few people in the country are currentlys engaged in intellectual work.
“In my opinion, it was also the lack of political thought in Armenia that contributed to the Genocide. We were unable to predict and prevent it. We are capable of resolving our problems when we are prepared, as was the case with the Karabakh war,” he said. “The Genocide is merely a fact, nothing more while we are required to have strategic programs in addition to the tactical ones. Politics today is an exact science that requires knowledge.”
