There'll be no shortage of eggs for Easter, say Armenian authorities who offer assurances that consumers will not see a repeat of the New Year holiday, when eggs disappeared from shelves and prices tripled.

A leading poultry producer has been fined for the New Year fiasco, charged with market manipulation.

This week officials announced that export of eggs will be stopped this week, and, as a precaution an additional 3.5 million eggs will be imported from Ukraine, in preparation for the April 24 Easter feast. It is estimated that Armenians consume about 12 million eggs over the Easter holiday.
