Domestic political developments are encouraging, says oppositionist

The domestic political developments in Armenia have taken an encouraging course, says an activist of the opposition bloc.

“The domestic political developments are very encouraging, with the people gaining more control over political processes,” the coordinator of the opposition Armenian National Congress told Tert.am.

He said President Serzh Sargsyan’s recent instruction to review the probe over the March 2008 events is an attempt to fulfill one of the opposition’s demands. Asked whether the instruction would affect the ANC’s strategy, he said: “There are three demands, the fulfillment of which can pave a way for a dialogue.”

At its recent rally, the ANC called on the authorities, among other things, to issue an official confirmation on the disclosure of the deaths of the individuals killed during the March 2008 post-electoral turmoil in Yerevan.
