European Commission's Barroso to Visit Armenia

10:49, November 30, 2012

José Manuel Barroso, President of the European Commission, is scheduled to visit Armenia at the invitation of President Serzh Sargsyan.

The two will discuss regional affairs and matters related to EU-Armenia cooperation.

There will be a joint press conference in Yerevan on December 1, where Barroso and Sargsyan will speak about the results of their talks.

While in Yerevan, Barroso will also take part in a summit of the European People's Party's (EPP) Eastern Partnership leaders.

Armenia's ruling Republican Party was granted EPP observer status in February 2012 (the only available status for non-members of the EU).
