Heritage party leader Raffi Hovhannisyan's steps following his speech at the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) discredited Azerbaijan, according to a senior Dashnak politician.
"It is necessary to realize first what that Assembly is," Kiro Manoyan, the Armenian Revolutionary Federation-Dashnaksutyun's (ARF-D) Political Affairs Director, told a news conference on Wednesday. "The last Assembly was totally under Azerbaijan's control. But they cut a poor figure this time, partially due to Raffi Hovhannisyan's steps."
Manoyan added the ARF-D Bureau's Yerevan Office had rejected an invitation to attend the meeting.
Secretary General of the Heritage party, Styopa Safaryan, had earlier said that Hovhannisya's presence at the ICAPP General Assembly revealed the true situation in Azerbaijan, and its plans, as well as the unhealthy atmosphere dominating the country.
