Abkhazia is interested in establishment of direct air and sea communication with Turkey, Abkhazian Foreign Affairs Minister Vyacheslav Chiribka stated after signing agreement on establishment of ties between Sukhumi and Turkish Side towns, Vzglyad reports.
The Turkish delegation was headed by the mayor of Side Abdulkadir Ucar.
"Our goal is to make our neighbors recognize the Abkhazian passports for us to be able to travel to Turkey freely. Our goal is to take Abkhazia out of international isolation," Chiribka said.
Earlier Turkish ships were illegally appearing in Abkhazia's water territory, causing Georgia's dissatisfaction which claimed it was a violation of international arrangement.
