Armenia advanced from 50th to 32nd position in the latest Doing Business-2013, by the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund. The report assesses conditions in 185 countries. Armenia made its biggest jump – from 25th to 98th – in the category of Protecting Investors.
Tangible progress has been registered by Getting Electricity and Paying Taxes indexes, however, compared to the other 184 countries Armenia is lagging way behind (ranked 101st and 108th respectively). Regression has been registered in Starting Business category going from the 10th to 11th position, which in any case is a very high index.
Armenia's neighbors Azerbaijan and Georgia are in the 67th and 9th positions respectively.
