The greatest domestic political intrigue related to the coming presidential election concerns the position of Prosperous Armenia Party and whether it will throw its support to President Serzh Sargsyan next February, as it said it would yet in 2011.
A new wave of speculation arose following a provocative statement by Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan Wednesday.
During a briefing at the National Assembly the premier did not rule out a possible signing of a new memorandum in support of the incumbent president Serzh Sargsyan's candidacy, reminding at the same time that the existing document signed 18 months ago is still in force.
