The Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP), which refused to become part of a new ruling coalition after last May's parliamentary elections has again insisted that it is an "alternative" to the current government rather than an opposition.
In an interview with A1+, Tigran Urikhanyan, a spokesman for the party that holds the second largest faction in the Armenian parliament, said that the PAP possessed all "political grounds" to not be considered specifically opposition as it was an "alternative" to any other force, be it "socialists, left-wingers and right-wingers, pro-government or extra-parliamentary forces."
