Armenia hails NSW=?UTF-8?B?4oCZ?=s recognition of Karabakh

Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian welcomed the decision by Australia's largest state to recognize Nagorno-Karabakh, as he continued his Central American tour on Thursday.

Earlier that day the Legislative Council of the New South Wales Parliament adopted a resolution recognizing Nagorno-Karabakh and the right to self-determination of its Armenian people from Azerbaijan.

During a meeting with the Costa-Rican parliament speaker in capital San Jose Nalbandian also accused Azerbaijan of torpedoing international efforts on finding a peaceful solution to the protracted conflict in the South Caucasus.

"The more Azerbaijan hampers the mediators' efforts trying to preserve the status-quo, the more decisions like the one taken by the Legislative Council of Australia's largest State New South Wales on the recognition of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic will be made," he said.
