Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Tuesday that expansion of economic cooperation will help strengthen Iran-Armenia "ancient and friendly ties", according to the Islamic Republic's official news agency IRNA.
In a reported telephone conversation with Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, Ahmadinejad described the recent meeting of the two countries' Joint Economic Cooperation Commission held in Yerevan as successful.
"The meeting was an emphasis on consolidating the ancient ties and shows that Tehran and Yerevan are determined to make great strides in line with promoting bilateral ties," he said.
Ahmadinejad also pointed out that Iran considers full implementation of the two countries' agreements a measure in line with promoting friendship of the two nations.
