Schengen visas difficult to get in Armenia

As a rule, Armenian citizens encounter difficulties in getting Schengen visas, especially at the French Embassy in Armenia, Tatev Ghazaryan, tourism manager, Triumph travel agency told Tert.am.This year, foreign embassies in Armenian have not facilitated visa issuance either.This year applicants have got their visas. "Our travel agency has not had many refusals, but I know about people denied visa without any explanations," she said.The French Embassy denies the most visas, and the travel agency cannot organize tours. Cooperating with the German, Lithuanian and Italian embassies is much easier, Ghazaryan said.Diana Hairapetyan of the Angels travel agency shares the opinion. "Visas for North American countries are difficult to get, whereas visas for Asian countries are much easier to get," Hairapetyan said.This year, Armenians tourists have preferred Spain and Italy of European countries.Armenia and the European Union (EU) are negotiating facilitation of visa issuan ce procedures.   Read more...
