Shirak FC wins Armenian Cup

Shirak Football Club has won its first ever Armenian Cup after beating Impulse 1-0 in the second largest city of Gyumri.


According to Armsport.am, it was the team’s fifth competition in the final round of the Armenian Cup competitions.

The success paves the Gyumri-based football club’s way to the European League.

The only goal was scored by Yoro Lami who occupied the rival’s fence after the second angular blow.

Gyumri’s football stadium re-opened recently after repairs. The ground was blessed today before the match. President of the Football Federation of Armenia (FFA) Ruben Hayrapetyan delivered a welcoming speech, expressing his gratitude to the owner of FC Shirak, Arman Sahakyan, for organizing the event.
