le=”text-align: justify; “>None of the nine political parties running for parliament can get 66 seats in Armenia’s future parliament thereby forming overwhelming majority, Aharon Adibekyan, Head of the Sociometer center, told journalists on Thursday.
“At this moment, the majoritarian component comes to the aid of the proportional component, with the hope for getting seats in parliament often placed on the majoritarian component,” Adibekyan said.
According to the expert, the opposition bloc Armenian National Congress (ANC) will not be able to get a single seat in Armenia’s parliament through the majoritarian component.
“In the recent mayor election in Hrazdan, Sasun Mikaelyan [an ANC member running for parliament in Hrazdan now] was competing only with the incumbent Hrazdan mayor. Now, however, he has to compete with a political force, namely, with RPA members,” Adibekyan said.
