A state strategy covering key aspects of Georgia’s relationship with the South Caucasus countries has been submitted to the country’s parliament, the Russian newspaper Vzglyad reported.
The document has been elaborated by a parliamentary committee dealing with the Diaspora and Caucasus issues, and the National Security Council.
According to Nugzar Tsiklauri, the head of the committee, the strategy encompasses issues relating to the protection of human rights, civil society, the mass media, economy and trade, education, science, culture, and the promotion of historical justice.
“We live in the same geographic area, with Georgia being an integral part of the Caucasus,” Tsiklauri said, adding that a united, stable, secure and developed region is highly important for the country.
