Armenian psychologist calls on mass media to stop covering suicide cases

Speaking to Tert.am, the psychologist agreed it with the regularity she has noticed – the behavior of self-murderers has become a model one.

Karine Nalchajyan explained that when a person has many problems, moreover, is hungry, tired, or ill and sees on TV that a young girl committed suicide thinks ‘I am a week person. This child managed to do it but I am suffering’. At such moments psychological identification process of the self-murderer and potential self-murderer is taking place. The psychologist said according to the statistics, the attempts to commit suicide reduce twice after the first unsuccessful attempt, thus she offered establishment of round the clock duty on Kiyevyan bridge, from where the majority of suicide cases occur.
