le=”text-align: justify; “>Armenian FM Edward Nalbandian received on Monday Mayor of Venice Giorgio Orsoni, who is on his first-ever visit to Armenia on the occasion of celebrations of Yerevan World Book Capital 2012.
Minister Nalbandian noted that the Armenian people has historical ties with Venice. The Italian city has rich Armenian cultural heritage. Also, the Mkhitarist congregation has for many years been active in the city.
Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan’s visit to Venice opened a new chapter in the Yerevan-Venice relations.
Mr Giorgio Orsoni thanked Minister Nalbandian for the reception and stressed the Venice authorities are willing to expand cooperation with Yerevan, and the aim of his visit is to develop the bilateral ties. The sides discussed cooperation in culture and tourism, as well as prospects of Armenia’s adopting Venice experience in developing small and medium businesses.
