An activist of the opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC), Gurgen Yeghiazaryan, says the developments on the political arena will take an interesting turn in April.
“A citizen will finally realize that living like this is impossible and will take to the streets,” he told a news conference on Friday.
Recalling the municipal election in Hrazdan, the politician expressed hope that the scenario of buying votes will not be repeated any more.
Addressing the topic, Karine Achemyan of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) promised that country will see fair and transparent election in May.
But the oppositionist objected to the remark, saying that the striving majority cannot vote for the thriving minority. He referred to Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan’s statement that 37.8% of Armenia’s population lives below the poverty line.
