March 1 was race for power, says sculptor

Armenian sculptor Levon Tokmajyan has shared his impressions of the March 1, 2008 post-electoral turmoil in Yerevan.

At a news conference on Thursday, the artist said he wouldn’t wish tragedies like that to happen ever again.

“Those were tragic events. There’s nothing worse than seeing Armenian people stand up against one another. The life of every Armenian is dear to us. But that was nothing more than a race for power” he said.

Tokmajyan regretted to note that the Armenian nation is very credulous about any issue.  Read more... (219 words)
